A question that we hear all the time is “What is appropriate to put on my business card?” Nowadays people are choosing to be more creative in what they include on their business card to stand out from their competition. While it’s nice to hand out a card that is creative AND informative, the last thing you want is for it to be cluttered with unnecessary information, especially if that information can be found on your web site. Other than the standard name, job title, phone number, email address, web site etc., here are a few things that we have seen lately on business cards that have gotten a positive response:
- Link to a Blog
- Twitter Username
- LinkedIn Profile
- Picture of Yourself
We think it is important to mention that these elements should only be included if your content is what you want your customers or business colleagues to see. Social Media and blogging are taking the business world by storm right now, and implementing these components into your marketing plan can be beneficial depending on the kind of work that you do. Like we have mentioned before, your business stationery is the first impression that new contacts have of you. By including these different links, potential customers have one more way to see what your company or business has to offer and adds some personality to your company.
Also note to only list your Twitter username if you are posting relevant information to your company or field of work. Same goes for your blog. Trust us, your new client does not care to read about your crazy weekend in Miami or your thoughts on the new Harry Potter movie.
